The screening of the pre-recorded play, in which Miss Lansbury stars with James Earle Jones, begins at 8pm. After an interval, Miss Lansbury will greet the audience and answer questions.

Angela Lansbury has won five Tony Awards, six Golden Globes, one Grammy, and is a three‐time Academy Award nominee. This year she was made a Dame in the New Year’s Honours List and received an Honorary Academy Award for her ‘extravagant achievements in cinematic industry during her career of 75 years’.

Dame Lansbury’s accomplishments in film and theatre are truly extraordinary, but she may be best known for her role as Jessica Fletcher in the long-running U.S. television series, Murder, She Wrote.

The evening will begin with Driving Miss Daisy: The Play, the critically-acclaimed comedy-drama in which Dame Lansbury co-stars with another of the world’s greatest living actors, James Earl Jones. The play was filmed in 2013 and will be shown on a screen in The Grainstore. Also starring is four- time Tony Award winner, Boyd Gaines.

Driving Miss Daisy: The Play tells the affecting story of the decades-long relationship between a stubborn Southern matriarch and her compassionate chauffeur. An iconic tale of pride, changing times and the transformative power of friendship, the play has warmed the hearts of theatre-goers worldwide.

Ballymaloe Grainstore is a 300-seat performing arts venue located just steps away from the world-famous Ballymaloe House twenty miles east of Cork City. The only purpose-built venue in East Cork,The Grainstore was developed by Rory Allen (son of Ballymaloe matriarch, Myrtle Allen) who is an accomplished musician in his own right. Built on the site of a 17th-century building used for storing grain and farm machinery, Rory respectfully maintained its character when creating the venue which opened in 2009.
