Dáithí Ó’Sé was on hand to launch the Light it up Blue Gala Ball in aid of the Cork Association for Autism will take place on Friday April 1st, marking the first day of Autism Awareness Month. This black-tie affair at the Maryborough Hotel & Spa, Douglas will have all the glitz, glamour and fun to make it another spectacular night.
More than 300 people are expected to attend the annual fundraiser, now in its fifth year. Guests will be welcomed by a champagne drinks reception in the enchanted setting of the Orangery, followed by a delicious four-course meal and live entertainment from The Boogie Band. A monster raffle will take place on the night with some fantastic prizes to be won.
The Cork Association for Autism provide a range of services for adults with autism which include Residential Care, Respite, Day Service, Home Support and an Asperger Syndrome Support Service. Families rely heavily on these supports and demand for its services continues to grow. The charity will once again be shining a light on autism this April in order to raise awareness and understanding of autism which now affects 1:100 individuals in Ireland.
Marion Courtney, Fundraising Manager at the Cork Association for Autism, spoke about their upcoming ball ‘ We are urging companies and the public to support our Gala Ball and help us raise much needed funds for new facilities at our service centres. It is always a great night of fine food, entertainment and dancing and we look forward to hosting this wonderful event again this year’.
