Now in its fourth year, The Nightmare Realm is an extreme walk-through scare house attraction set in an old warehouse on Albert Quay Cork. The new show will be bigger, darker and more unnerving than ever before, with more gruesome scenes and bigger props, so expectations for actors are high.
If you want the job from hell, be prepared to walk the ‘green mile’ and act out your deepest darkest fears at the auditions, in keeping with this year’s theme ‘Fear is a Prison’.

“If you can do grotesque, blood churning and can make Alcatraz look like a crèche, then we want you,” said a spokesperson for The Nightmare Realm.
All ages from 16+ are welcome to apply and acting experience is a bonus but not essential. However no juvenile delinquents need apply. You must be available to work flexible evening and weekend hours and be outgoing, strange and scary.

Open Auditions take place at The Nightmare Realm on Albert Quay (next to The Sextant) from 12pm to 3pm on Saturday 30th August. Do not go in costume, as the organisers want to look into your soul. Auditions will consist of being given a scare task or emotion to be acted out in front of a panel of judges and audience. If your performance is convincing enough to make the hairs on people’s neck stand up, then you probably stand a good chance of a call back. If you manage to impress the existing crew and creative team, you will be trained in the art of psychological scare tactics, will be physically transformed by a team of professional make-up artists and costume designers, before being set loose at the Nightmare Realm!
