Help Sinead O’ Riordan Shine A Light on homelessness across Ireland

Cork Actress Sinéad O’ Riordan is gearing up to go to Gaol on October 16th for sleeping with up to 40 business leaders.

Sinead is known for her critically acclaimed presentations of the European Premiere of “The Motherf**ker With The Hat”, “The Woolgatherer” and “Breathless” and for her stellar performance in the award winning short film ‘Stolen’, written by Cork writer Yvonne Keane.
In actual fact Sinéad’s only ‘offense’ is that she will be participating in Focus Ireland’s ‘Shine A Light’ night business leader sleep-out with 40 other business leaders on Oct 16th. Sinéad will not be the only creative soul braving the cold on the night, she will be joined by award winning Irish actor Moe Dunford (Patrick’s Day, TV series The Vikings). The event which will take place outside Cork City Gaol is aiming to help raise awareness for Homelessness.
Actress and Producer Sinéad who is currently shooting a new feature film, ‘Dead Along The Way’, written/directed by Maurice O’Carroll and which she is also co-producing, believes strongly in this campaign.

“As an actor and founder of ORion Productions my aim is to present productions which bring an awareness of major issues, both social and personal to the public. But what better way to raise awareness than to actually participate in this campaign and to experience a night out on the streets. The homelessness crisis is getting worse and needs to be addressed. I don’t know who much one person can do, but if I can help raise a little more awareness of this just by sacrificing my bed for one night, then so be it. I sincerely hope everyone will donate a little to this cause if they can. Every little helps”.

Sinéad just wrapped on shooting a music video for Cork musician Clare O’ Riordan’s single ‘Angel’ which according to Sinéad, came at a perfect time. “The lyrics of Clare’s song particularly resonated with me because they deal with somebody losing their identity and all I could think about when filming it are those who are being turfed out of their houses and have nowhere to go, and how they too are losing a sense of themselves “. The music video was shot my Maurice O’Carroll and is soon to be released. ” I can’t wait for people to see it, as I hope it will resonate with people as it did with me, and might even raise more awareness for this amazing cause”.

There are also a few items up for raffle also, one being a beautiful back to school study desk worth 400 Euro and the other being a signed UFC shirt by Conor McGregor, Paddy Holohan and other fighters.
